Can Tho not Cancel

It's an in joke. When I told the concierge in Our Saigon hotel we were going to Can Tho he thought I wanted to cancel our reservations for something. I kept saying it slowly and he kept asking me what I wanted to cancel. When I finally explained it was a city in the Mekong Delta he smiled at me and said oh you mean Can Thue which is how it is pronounced not spelled.

We traveled from Saigon to a smaller town called Can Tho, the heart of the Mekong Delta, southeast of Saigon. Our hotel was that perfect combination of comfort and location and the all important "Attitude". The factor I call Atitude is defined as the general feeling you get from being in a place. Some hotels are beautiful and comfortable but have terrible Attitude, as we will see later. Foreshadowing here folks.

This small 7 room boutique hotel was at the main corner of the Main Street across from the river and the 10m tall Ho Chi Minh Statue. It was charming. The rooftop bar, breakfast and dining room five floors up overlooked everything and we quickly made one of the tables home base for the duration of our stay. Our primary reason for going to Can Tho was to hire a boat and driver to take us up the Mekong to see the floating markets of the Mekong but it turned into much more than that as I posted earlier.

After two days and nights in Can Tho (just call it cancel) we went to the empty airport and left for the beach.
